Mélina Magdelénat is the founder of Cara, a French think tank working to build a future of fair, valued, and collective caregiving. Grounded in feminist care ethics, Cara aims to place vulnerability and interdependence at the heart of public action, and foster care innovation at the local level.
She is also the editor for Voix en Exil, a French government program for exiled journalists piloted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and a master’s degree in Russian and East European studies, both from the University of Oxford. Mélina’s broader research interests include the interplay of care systems and intrafamily violence; men and masculinities; feminist theory; and the judicial treatment of sexual offences. She writes about these, and more, on Substack.
