Gilberto is a partnership strategist and resource mobilizer with more than eight years of experience in consulting and in-house roles across nonprofits, philanthropy, and multilateral organizations. His work has supported community development initiatives throughout the United States, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
A dedicated convener, Gilberto previously served as Partnerships Coordinator at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), where he expanded a diverse portfolio of grassroots, academic, government, corporate, and NGO partners across Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. He later worked as a Special Projects Associate at Social Strategy Associates, a U.S.-based philanthropic consulting firm, where he played a key role in strengthening flexible funding mechanisms, stakeholder engagement strategies, and donor–grantee relationships for a range of clients.
Gilberto holds a Master of Public Administration in Development Practice from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). He was born and raised in Colombia, and is currently based in New York City.
